Lies Read Backward: Christmas at Pellbury
It's December in Pellbury, and the snow has closed the road over the fell. Retired crossword compiler Tilly Marsh is watching the newcomer at the Mill House, who has taken a great interest in the village's two-hundred-year-old silver star.
This is an advent calendar of crime: 25 cozy cases, one for each day from December 1 to Christmas Day, ending in a two-part finale.

How each case works
Each case hides its evidence in two word search grids. Find every word, then notice which way it runs:
- In the Scene grid, a word that reads forward is a genuine clue. A word that reads backward was planted to mislead you.
- In the Statements grid, a word that reads forward is true. A word that reads backward is a lie.
Then apply Tilly's Two Rules: the culprit fits every genuine clue and lied about where they were when the crime happened. Only one suspect passes both.
